Snow College

This past weekend we celebrated our 7th Anniversary!!! Yay!!! Tony & I met at Snow College and had such fun times there.

We went on a little getaway trip down there last week.

This past year for his birthday, I made him a lap quilt to remember our fun times in Ephraim. Tony was Student Body President there and had a lot of old shirts. So I cut them up and put them in a quilt.
The other fabric is completely random --Tony's old plaid shorts, a blue striped hand towel from Ikea, blue placemats, a yellow hand towel, & a few old shirts Tony didn't want anymore. Some people think it's weird to have different textured fabrics in the same quilt but I like it.  So if it matched, I threw it in!

Happy scrapping!

Bria's Room

It's so fun to have some pink in our house!
Hanging Tulle Pom Pom's: about 2 yards folded up then fanned into a ball. I trimmed the edges a little to make it more circular. I tied ribbon around them to hang from the ceiling. I used white thumbtacks to attach the white ribbon to the ceiling.
I had so much fun making this cute flower. The best part about it was it cost $1.50 to make. I cut each petal out of felt and then formed it into a circle and layered 3 circles. We had a bunch of clip on earrings that were Tony's grandma's so I glued one of the pearls on for the center of the flower. I found the board/frame at DI for 50 cents. It looked like ugly outdated wallpaper and I think it had a duck on it. So I spray painted it white and covered it with a flower :)
I found this giant vinyl sticker at the Scrapbook Expo about 3 years ago for $1. Now I can finally use it!
I made this B for Bria's room out of buttons and a blank canvas. It turned out okay but I'm not quite sure how I feel about the font yet :)

I was so excited once we finally chose a name for our sweet baby. I was even more excited when I found out what it means: "Noble, Strong, & Virtuous". I feel like I couldn't have picked a better meaning :) I want her to always remember it, so I put it up in her room.
Since I've been way too busy with these awesome kiddos, I haven't been able to finish Bria's room, but at least it's a beginning! After all, these guys are definitely what matter most!!!

Headboard Wall

Look at this sweet headboard Tony built on our bedroom wall! Since we moved in, we haven't done much with our bedroom. This is what it used to look like:

We were in Las Vegas a few weeks ago and saw this cool wall at Outback Steakhouse.

We also saw this awesome picture & frame, which I absolutely love!

I love how each color in the background matches the colors in the photo.

Don't mind my awkward face :) I didn't realize I'd be in the picture.  With these as our inspiration, Tony started collecting wood. Most of it came from a friend's fence
that had blown over.

First he made a big mess :) and framed the wall so that it would pop out.

He got the colors from a photo we had taken when we went to Mexico.

I love how he also made the picture come out of the wall. He bought big 4" bolts and put 3 nuts behind it to hold the picture stiffly.

I loved the way it turned out! It makes me want to put the finishing touches on the rest of the room.

Sweet Bria

We are so excited to have this little angel in our family!!!
I had so much fun making a pretty little dress for her. I just used a little bit of Satin for the majority of the dress. Then I bought some pre-made ruffles and flowers and added them to it. I've also had way too much fun making hair bows and flowers :)

This is a snap-shot of our family on her blessing day.
Here's a full view of the dress.
The flowers on the bottom look complicated, but they are acutally just a roll of ribbon from Hobby Lobby. It made my job so easy!

Bria's Car Seat Cover

I have loved making car seat covers for a while now but this one was extra fun because it was for OUR baby girl!

I bought the colorful floral print fabric at Hancock fabric.
The ruffle border is actually leftover fabric from a flat sheet I had used from a quilt. I made it into a 3" ruffle to go around the whole cover.

I made the handles on it out of scraps (white fabric: from some pants I hemmed & blue: scraps from placemats I made). Then I added a hot pink button just for looks. I actually put Velcro on the inside to attach it easily to the car seat.

I love the fabric on the inside--hot pink & white stripes. I found 2 1/2 yards of it at a thrift store a few years ago. It didn't smell weird or look used so...I bought it :) I was so excited to finally use it!
Yay for pink!

Welcome Home

I have always loved cute front doors! The front door at our last house was really squeaky and not in the best shape. I was so happy to get a new door when we moved here :)

It's a normal basic steel door so I decided to cut out our house number with my Cricut and put on it.

I also got this cute "F" from the Wood Connection and painted it. Then added some simple burlap ribbon and berries.

I love how it turned out :) simple but fun!

CRICUT!!!

Last month my sweet sister Amy invited me to go with her to a Christmas Cricut Blogging Party. It was so fun to go to and to learn more about this great company! I was very impressed. I was even more impressed when the employees of Cricut delivered a Cricut Mini right to my door for free! They even included a free mat, some vinyl, and a cutting kit! I was so excited!!!
Things were pretty crazy with moving into our house and with Christmas and the holidays but I finally busted out the Cricut and have had so much fun playing with it! Using it has given me tons more ideas!
My first project was cutting vinyl for my big bins/buckets of food storage. I have five different ones that are the same size and never remember what is in which one --wheat, sugar, flour, beans, or rice.
Amy helped me get to know the Cricut Craft Room Program and we quickly came up with these cute labels for them :)

Aren't they fun!?! It makes me want to use my food storage more :)

I can't wait to see what other fun things I can do with this Cricut :)
